Monsul joined Designgroup Stapleton Elliott’s (DGSE) Auckland studio in 2022. He is strongly motivated by his heritage and the potential to have a positive impact through architecture. He is driven by the principle that thoughtful and considered design responses can help craft the relationships between identity, people, and place – “Mahia te mahi, hei painga mo te iwi // Do the work, for the benefit of the people” – Te Puea Herangi.

Monsul has worked on a variety of projects within the Education, Transport, Cultural, and Civic sectors. He assists in managing mana whenua and artist engagement, realising community aspirations,and delivering authentic design outcomes.

Highly adaptable, Monsul works well independently and in a team environment. He is reliable and skilled in design coordination and development of drawings. Designing through a cultural lens, his work drives the importance of contributing to a built environment that is uniquely of Aotearoa and the people that reside within.
